Field Communications

At the heart of ARES-RACES is the capability to respond to an emergency, deploying personnel and equipment to provide critical communications when commercial or government systems fail. To maintain this capability, Delaware County ARES-RACES utilizes robust Portable Emcomm Kits provided through a grant from the Southeast Pennsylvania Anti-terrorism Task Force. These field emergency communications kits greatly enhance the ability of Delaware County ARES-RACES to provide voice and data communication services anywhere in the county and region under the most challenging conditions, independent of the commercial power grid.
