ARES - RACES Net        KA3TWG Repeater  / 446.925 Mhz  /  173.8 pl  /  Monday  /  1930 hours

Delaware County ARES-RACES operates a net each Monday evening at 1930 hours local time on the KA3TWG 446.925 repeater (pl 173.8) located in Bethel Township in southwestern Delaware County. All licensed Amateur Radio operators are urged to participate. The directed net is conducted as a drill using emergency communications protocols. All stations checking in should state their call sign phonetically, name and announce any traffic they may have. ARES-RACES personnel are encouraged to use emergency power during the net.

Echolink users may check into the net using the KA3TWG-R Node (446925). New users should first register with the Echolink system and all users should send a notification email to KA3TWG: email: KA3TWG.

The weekly net affords all Amateur Radio operators an opportunity to practice using emergency communication techniques during the directed net and to test equipment on a regular basis. The net also provides a conduit to relay important operational information to team members.

Because the weekly net is employed as an emergency communication exercise, all personnel checking in should keep their comments brief and of a nature relating to Amateur Radio. It is not a chit-chat net.

When checking in, it is highly encouraged to utilize the ITU phonetic alphabet for clarity and practice for passing traffic.
